KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued an important warning to deserving and beneficiary women across Pakistan, directing them to immediately report anyone attempting to deduct, withhold, or stop their scholarship payments.
According to a statement issued by the BISP spokesperson, the financial assistance provided to beneficiary women is funded by the Government of Pakistan, and the full amount is the rightful entitlement of the deserving beneficiary.
No individual or intermediary is authorized to stop the payment, demand a share, or make any deduction from the scholarship amount.
BISP has urged beneficiaries not to succumb to threats, pressure or blackmail and to ensure that they receive their payments in full.
The programme said that anyone who obstructs a beneficiary’s payment or demands a portion of the assistance should be reported immediately through the BISP helpline 0800-26477.
Deadline Set for Free Benazir SIM Cards
Meanwhile, BISP has also announced a deadline for deserving women to obtain their free Benazir SIM cards. According to the programme, women receiving financial assistance must obtain a free SIM card from their nearest BISP office by September 10.
The administration has clarified that the next quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafaalat Programme will not be transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries who have not obtained their free Benazir SIM card.
BISP has urged all eligible women to complete the SIM registration process before the deadline to avoid any difficulty in receiving their next installment of financial assistance.
