SAMAHNI (Kashmir English): In a positive development, the Azad Kashmir Electricity Department has announced that the grid station for Samahni is nearing completion, a long-standing demand of the people.
Executive Engineer (XEN) Electricity Bhimber Mian Obaidullah said that efforts are being made to expedite the completion of the grid station on an emergency basis on the special interest of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
This project has been a long-standing dream of the people of the Samahni constituency in Bhimber District, and its completion is expected to bring much-needed relief to the area.
While taking along with XEN Grid Station Raja Muhammad Raees, Obaidullah said that the construction site and contract has been handed over to the Khuda Bakhsh Tarar, Manager Projects of the engineering firm STZ.
Raja Muhammad Raees, Xin Grid Stations, has assured that the quality and speed of work will improve, with the project being completed before the stipulated period. In the first phase, a fence will be completed around the awarded area.
The Azad Kashmir government has initiated emergency measures to ensure the timely completion of the Samahni grid station.
The construction company has promised to start work regularly after Eid-ul-Fitr, with the first phase involving the completion of a fence around the awarded area, XEN Electricity Bhimber told reporters.
Earlier, local dignitaries and participants expressed gratitude to XEN Electricity and the Minister of Electricity for their efforts in making this project a reality.
