LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab Cabinet has approved a revised schedule for the Basant festival in Lahore, with celebrations now set to take place from March 12 to 14, 2027, according to media reports.
The decision revises the previously announced schedule, under which the festival was planned to run for 10 days, from January 29 to February 7, 2027.
According to reports, the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore had submitted a proposal to the Punjab Home Department seeking a change in the festival dates. The Home Department subsequently forwarded the proposal to the provincial cabinet for approval.
Following the cabinet’s approval, the new dates have been finalized for March 12–14, 2027.
The revised schedule means that Basant celebrations in Lahore will take place in March instead of the previously announced January–February period.
