LAHORE (Kashmir English): Bangladesh’s national team will travel to Pakistan for a T20I series, reduced to 3 matches, after their ongoing tour of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday.

Bangladesh side will visit Pakistan this month for a three-match T20I series.

Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium will host the series with official schedule expected soon.

Bangladesh were originally scheduled to play a five-match Twenty20 International series in Pakistan after playing two games in the same format in the UAE. The tour of Pakistan was originally scheduled to get underway from Sunday, 25 May.

The Tigers, however, will stay in Pakistan for a shorter period with the number of matches that they will be playing getting reduced.

Bangladesh-UAE T20I series

Bangladesh’s UAE tour, in which they will play all of their games in Sharjah, however, got extended with an additional match set to take place today (May 21), making it a three-match T20I series.

On the other hand, the corresponding series in Pakistan has been reduced to a three-match saga, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium set to host all of the games.

The development comes after a meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Nazmul Abedin and President Faruque Ahmed.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his appreciation to his Bangladeshi counterparts for finalising the tour.

“We are grateful to the BCB leadership for their trust and cooperation. This series is another positive step in strengthening cricketing ties between our nations,” he said.

The PCB had hoped to host matches in Faisalabad as well, but it seems revival of cricket in Faisalabad will have to wait as Lahore will host all the matches.
