BAGH (Kashmir English): Bagh police have arrested the main suspect in the terrorist attack at the Shujabad checkpost, which resulted in the martyrdom of Constable Sajjad Resham.
The District Police Bagh, in a press release, said that the terrorist Usama Aslam has been taken into custody, and weapons and grenades have been recovered from him.
However, police said that the accused’s four accomplices are still hiding in the forests of Nanga Pir, Siri Jungle, Bhatti Sharif, and the Chakar.
The other accused include two Afghan nationals and two locals, identified as Zarnoosh Naseem alias Qasim, resident of Jhir Ghani Abad Bagh, and Ulfat alias Hanzala, resident of Mandi Bahauddin.
The police also issued a public alert, stating that these terrorists could cause major mishaps in Azad Kashmir, especially in Bagh, at any time.
“Therefore, the public, especially the people of the areas of Bhatti, Bees Bagla, Jhir, Chakar, Sri, Noon Bagla, Rahim Kot, Prem Kot, Lohar Kot Chakar, and Sarmia, are requested to be safe from these elements,” the police press release added.
The residents were also advised to report any information about these terrorists to the authorities, with the condition that the identity of the informants would be kept confidential.
