RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s renowned batter Babar Azam achieved a significant milestone by scoring a magnificent century in the second One-Day International against Sri Lanka here on Friday.

Babar Azam scored his 20th ODI century against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, tying Saeed Anwar’s record for the most ODI centuries by a Pakistani batter.

Anwar scored 20 ODI centuries in 244 innings during his career whereas Babar Azam accomplished this feat in just 136 innings. Thus, he also became the world’s third fastest batter to score 20 centuries in the fewest innings.

Babar Azam scored this ODI century at a time when more than two years had passed since his last century.

This century, scored after 2 years, not only announced Babar Azam’s return to form but also once again highlighted his name in Pakistan’s ODI history.

In the second match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the national team defeated Sri Lanka to win the series.
