MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): According to the latest Azad Kashmir weather update, the weather in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has turned pleasant due to the ongoing rain. The rainfall has brought a refreshing change, and the showers are expected to continue.

Thunderstorms are likely this morning. Afterwards, there is a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. A high of around 75F with ESE winds at 5 to 10 mph can be observed. The chance of rain is 90 per cent.

As of current, the precipitation is 65 per cent, humidity is at 74 per cent and winds are 3 mph. There are currently no active snow events at the location. For the night, partly cloudy skies with a low of 62°F and light and variable winds are expected.

Kashmir is expected to see more rain accompanied by gusty winds, isolated heavy downpours, and possible hailstorms over the next three days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The wet spell is forecast to continue on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with occasional gaps.

The weather system, driven by a prevailing westerly wave and moist currents from the Arabian Sea, is likely to bring further showers across Azad Kashmir and other regions of Pakistan. The rains are expected to offer temporary relief from rising temperatures while also posing risks of flash flooding and landslides in vulnerable regions.

Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are forecast across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, north and eastern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast and southern Balochistan, and southeast Sindh through the weekend.

In the twin cities, intermittent rain, gusty winds, and isolated heavy falls are likely, with Islamabad’s maximum temperature expected to range between 32°C and 34°C on Friday, and between 31°C and 33°C on Saturday. Rawalpindi is likely to experience slightly cooler conditions, with maximum temperatures between 30°C and 32°C on Friday and 29°C to 31°C on Saturday.
