MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Information Minister, Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, a member of the Action Committee, stating that while everyone has the right to discuss public rights, insulting martyrs, inciting hatred, and promoting anti-state agendas cannot be tolerated.
“Can someone who claims to champion public rights speak of slaughtering employees and throwing their bodies into Mangla Dam?” the Information Minister questioned, calling upon the Action Committee to immediately clarify its stance on the statement made by its member.
The Minister further raised concerns regarding the committee’s alignment, asking, “Is the Action Committee standing with those who talk about snatching weapons from the brave individuals who have sacrificed their lives for our protection?”
He accused the committee of promoting violence and unrest, stating, “Is inciting hatred and provoking peaceful citizens towards violence and disorder the agenda of the Action Committee?” The Minister also condemned the remarks made by Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, asserting that they dishonoured the martyrs of Kashmir and deeply hurt their families.
He also criticised those who spoke against the security forces, asking, “Those who spew venom against our protector forces should answer, who has safeguarded the people of this region all these years?”
The Minister highlighted the continuous aggression from across the Line of Control (LoC), mentioning the recent unprovoked firing by Indian forces in the Madarpur Sector of Poonch. “Even today, our forces have effectively responded to unprovoked Indian firing on our people at the LoC,” he stated.
He reminded the public that the armed forces are comprised of their brothers and sons. “Will you throw their bodies into Mangla Dam?” he asked, criticising the Action Committee member’s rhetoric.
Expressing hope for a responsible response, he stated, “We expect the Action Committee to condemn this anti-state statement immediately.”
The Minister reaffirmed that under no circumstances would anti-state agendas be allowed to thrive under the guise of advocating for public rights.
