SYDNEY (Kashmir English): Australia defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs in the second Test match to level the series.
Bangladesh were bowled out for 95 in the second innings. Bangladesh’s batting line-up had also failed miserably in the first innings, and the entire team was bowled out for just 64 runs.
Nine Bangladesh players failed to reach double figures in the second innings. Najmul Hossain scored 31 and Mushfiqur-ur-Rehman scored 29.
Australia had scored 210 runs in the first innings, including a brilliant 67 from Cameron Green.
The Australian team also struggled at the start of the innings, losing their first three wickets for just 41, but Cameron Green and Steve Smith later helped the team.
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets in the first innings and 4 wickets in the second, taking 10 wickets in the match, while captain Pat Cummins took 6 wickets. Sharaful Islam took 7 wickets for Bangladesh.
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc was named Player of the Match and Player of the Series, taking the most wickets in the two-match series with 12.
The second Test against Bangladesh was Australia’s second shortest Test, while this is the fourth shortest Test in the history of Test cricket.
Bangladesh were all out for less than 100 runs in both innings for the first time.
This was the first time in 21 years that a team was bowled out for less than 100 runs in both innings.
Bangladesh defeated Australia in the first Test, and after Australia won the second match, the two-match Test series was leveled at 1-1.
