LAHORE (Kashmir English): Punjab Police Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shehrbano Naqvi has been selected for the renowned Asia Society 21 Next Generation Fellowship.
She became the first female police officer from Pakistan to achieve this distinction.
ASP Naqvi has been selected for the Class of 2025, a Punjab Police spokesman said, for her contributions towards safeguarding vulnerable segments of society and her dedication to bringing about systemic change.
Punjab Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar hailed the ASP Shehrbano, saying it was a matter of pride for the nation.
“It is a matter of pride that the performance of Punjab Police officers is being appreciated at the international level,” he said in a statement.

The Asia 21 Next Generation Fellowship is scheduled from 5 to 7 December 2025, in the Philippines, where 30 exceptional individuals from 27 nations will be awarded.
ASP Naqvi became famous in 2023 for her courageous rescue of a woman from a violent crowd at Lahore’s Achhra Market, an incident that earned her universal acclaim as a symbol of courage in the police.
