TOKYO (Kashmir English): The Asian Games javelin throw final is set to take place tomorrow, featuring Pakistan’s Olympic gold-medal-winning hero, Arshad Nadeem, alongside 13 other throwers.
While reaching the podium might seem like a tall order for Arshad Nadeem, the final is a level playing field. Pakistan’s Yasir Sultan will also join the race for medals in the final alongside Arshad.
Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga, the gold-medal favorite, and two Indian throwers will be key figures to watch, though Neeraj Chopra is not participating in these games.
It is worth noting that in the Paris Olympics 2024 final, Neeraj Chopra finished second, securing the silver medal, while Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem took first place and the gold with a historic throw of 92.97 meters.
According to his coach, Salman Butt, Arshad has trained in Japan’s weather conditions following his training in Lahore.
Coach Butt asserts that Arshad is fully fit and in excellent form; however, his throws so far suggest he is trailing well behind the top three.
