MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Apple has announced that it will unveil the first update to the iPhone SE since 2022 on February 19 (Wednesday).

CEO Tim Cook posted a cryptic post on social media platform X to state: “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19.”

Apple is expected to make some more announcements next week on other products such as Apple TV+ expanding to Android phones and updates related to Apple’s Vision Pro headset.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg had previously suggested the iPhone SE 4 would be announced in the week February 10, but later changed the timeline to February 17, which aligns with the recent post from Cook.

Rebranding iPhone SE 4

There’s no official confirmation that the announcement will specifically be for the iPhone SE 4, with some speculating the company might rebrand the device, which has been part of the lineup since 2016.

The teaser from CEO Tim Cook simply shows the Apple logo with a liquid metal effect, leaving some uncertainty around about what product it would be, but it’s widely expected to be a new iPhone SE.

The iPhone SE is expected to feature Face ID support with a 6.1-inch OLED display. It might have a toned-down A18 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and AI features like Genmoji and smart Siri.

For the camera, it may include a 48MP primary shooter and a 12MP front-facing camera. There is no conformation on the battery life so far.

The iPhone SE is likely to launch at $499 in the United States, but prices in other regions may vary.
