ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Speakers at a special event organized to mark Youm-e-Takbeer said that Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests were not just a military breakthrough, but also a symbol of dignity, sovereignty, and the collective pride of the Muslim Ummah.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter at its Islamabad office.
Youm-e-Takbeer
The gathering was held to commemorate Youm-e-Takbeer — the historic day marking Pakistan’s nuclear tests in 1998.
The event was presided over by APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and attended by senior Hurriyat leaders, intellectuals, and journalists.
Speakers emphasized that Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power sends a strong message across the Muslim world — that to live with honour and sovereignty, scientific, technological, and defense self-reliance is essential.
They lauded Pakistan’s nuclear capability for restoring the strategic balance in South Asia and deterring aggressive designs, affirming that Pakistan will never compromise its sovereignty or national security.
The speakers also noted that Pakistan’s nuclear deterrent remains a major obstacle to India’s expansionist ambitions.
They referred to Pakistan’s nuclear shield as a steel wall that protects national security and regional stability.
They stated that Pakistan today stands not only as the guardian of its geographical borders but also as a strategic bulwark for the wider Muslim world.
Rich tributes were paid to the national heroes who, under extremely difficult circumstances, worked day and night to make Pakistan a nuclear power.
Special mention was made of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and his team, whose exceptional contributions, they said, will be remembered for generations.
The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s stability, the unity of the Muslim Ummah, the early end to India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, and the elevation of the martyrs of Kashmir and Pakistan.
The event was attended by senior Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Shamim Shawl, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Hassan al-Banna, Dawood Khan Yousafzai, Raja Khadim Hussain, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Sanaullah Dar, Javed Butt, Haji Muhammad Sultan, Imtiaz Wani, Zahid Safi, Raja Shaheen, Mian Muzaffar, Adeel Mushtaq, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Syed Gulshan, Zahid Mujtaba, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Nazir Karnai, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Imtiaz Ahmad Butt, Imran Qazi, Rayees Ahmad Mir, Khalid Shabbir, and others.
