ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Another metro bus has been seen releasing heavy smoke near Jinnah Avenue, Ufone Tower (Islamabad).

According to the details, all passengers in the metro bus were evacuated safely.

This development comes after a metro bus caught fire, which was heading towards Islamabad along Sixth Road on Saturday, causing great fear among passengers and a temporary stoppage of metro bus service operations.

According to the report by rescue officials, the fire broke out instantly when the metro bus was passing through the metro track at Sixth Road. The passengers apparently had to smash the windows of the bus to flee before the rescue teams reached them.

Later on, the rescue teams began their firefighting operations and moved all passengers from the burning bus. It is reported that the metro bus was destroyed in the fire. More than 12 rescuers and four emergency ambulances were involved in the operation.

It is believed that the cause behind the breakout of fire may be due to a short circuit, said the rescue officials. In the wake of the fire incident, the metro bus service was stopped instantly on the track. All the ticket counters at metro stations were also shut down because of the fire incident.

According to the administration, services would soon restart once the track is cleared of the fire wreckage and checked for safety measures.
