MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has officially appointed Amir Zeeshan Jarral, a seasoned and experienced leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir, as Director General Political Affairs, Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
As Coordination Secretary PPP AJK
Amir Zeeshan Jarral hails from Mirpur and has been serving as Coordination Secretary in the PPP Azad Kashmir for a long time, providing very effective, active, and professional services.
He successfully handled coordination and liaison responsibilities between the central leadership and the Azad Kashmir organization, which is widely acknowledged at all levels of the party.
His appointment as Director General Prime Minister’s Secretariat will not only facilitate and improve access for PPP workers but also for other political parties, social classes, and common citizens to the Prime Minister’s office, according to a notification.
“This appointment is a recognition of professional competence, experience, and continuous services.”
Previously, he served as Public Relations Officer in the Pakistan Peoples’ Party government from 1996 to 2001, and as Political Secretary with the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir from 2011 to 2016.
Amir Zeeshan Jarral started his political career in 1988 as a member of the Central Executive Committee from the platform of the Peoples Students Federation.
From 1992 to 1996, he served as President of the Peoples Students Federation, District Mirpur.
From 1996 to 2001, he served as Public Relations Officer with Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry. From 2001 to 2004, he resided in the UK.
In 2004, he was appointed as a member of the Central Committee from the Peoples’ Party District Mirpur.
In 2006, he was appointed as Information Secretary of the Peoples’ Party District Mirpur. In 2007, he was appointed as Political Secretary with President PPP Chaudhry Abdul Majeed.
From 2011 to 2016, he served as Political Secretary with Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Majeed.
In the general elections of 2016 and 2021, he served as Secretary in the Central Organizing Committee. In 2023, he conducted the central elections of PSF Azad Kashmir as Chief Election Commissioner.
Since 2015, he has been serving as Central Secretary Coordination in the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Azad Kashmir.
