MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Inland Revenue Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has taken a significant step towards transparency and innovation by launching the AJK Tax Asaan mobile application.

This app enables taxpayers to easily verify the authenticity of receipts and ensure timely payment of sales tax, the department said in a statement.

As per details, users can scan the QR code or invoice number on receipts to verify their authenticity and confirm whether the sales tax has been paid to the government treasury.

After the successful implementation of the latest invoicing system, AJK POS Invoicing System, the initial version of the AJK Tax Asaan app has also been introduced, which can be easily accessed from the Google Play Store.

The app aims to promote transparency in tax collection and prevent tax evasion.

Throught the application, users will be able to verify whether the receipt is genuine or bogus by scanning the invoice number or QR Code on the receipts issued by business stores, brands and chains etc. connected to the AJK POS Invoicing System.

Taxpayers can easily verify receipts and ensure timely payment of taxes using their mobile handsets. The app helps protect government revenue by ensuring the timely payment of taxes.

The launch of the AJK Tax Asaan app is a significant achievement for the Inland Revenue Department, which has been working towards digitalizing its services and promoting transparency in tax collection.
