MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has also included AJK students in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme, under which deserving students will be provided with laptops, according to official sources.
Regional Director AIOU Mirpur, Faisal Shehzad, has said that this initiative will prove to be a significant milestone for students associated with the distance education learning system.
“Modern technology will further enhance online learning opportunities, enabling students to continue their academic activities more effectively.”
Laptop scheme to facilitate e-learning
The provision of laptops will also facilitate e-learning, practical assignments, and research, positively impacting students’ academic performance, the AIOU official added.
Shehzad while lauding the government decision said that the university has always strived for the welfare of its students, adding that the students’ inclusion in the scheme will benefit thousands of the University’s students.
He further said that such initiatives are the need of the hour for the promotion of digital education, adding that the government initiative reflects its education-friendly policy.
The university students of Mirpur, AJK Regional campus have also expressed their joy over the government decision, stating that this initiative will help make their educational journey easier in terms of finances.
The students thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Higher Education Commission, expressing hope that similar initiatives for the welfare of students will continue in the future.
