Three PPP workers injured in attack n AJK speaker’s convoy

Muzaffarabad: Chaudhry Latif Akbar, the speaker of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), had his convoy attacked in the Kaliyot village.

Chaudhry Murad Ali, a member of the speaker’s staff, claims that Mr Akbar was in his constituency, Kakliyot village, which is about 15 km south of Muzaffarabad, when the shooting occurred.

The speaker had travelled to a ceremony where a number of well-known Muslim Conference (MC) activists were expected to make announcements about their new party memberships. Akbar was on his way to Kikliot to witness the induction of members of a rival political group into the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).


The speaker’s convoy included 20 to 25 cars and motorcycles. The attack began when the convoy arrived in Kaliyot at 12:45 pm.

Attackers opened fire indiscriminately, injuring three PPP employees who were in the convoy. The names of the victims were Adil Imtiaz, who had an arm injury; Muhammad Riaz, who was hit in the shoulder; and Mubashir Hussain, who was shot in the head.

After the injured were sent to a hospital in Muzaffarabad, Mr Hussain’s condition was deemed safe post-surgery.

According to Mr Ali, the deputy commissioner, the extra superintendent of police, and other high-ranking authorities who had arrived at the site following the incident, the attackers did not stop the firing.

Speaking to his followers, Speaker Akbar reaffirmed his dedication to the rule of law and constitutional values. During the stalemate, Akbar reaffirmed his dedication to the rule of law and constitutional values.

“My political philosophy has always been one of fraternity, harmony, and respect. Making people’s lives easier, not harder, is my top priority. ” He declared, “I would never jeopardize the life of anyone, whether they were my opponent or my supporter.”

Both the Senate’s chairman and deputy chairman have expressed their grief over the attack and denounced the shooting incident that targeted the speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly’s convoy.

While Deputy Chairman Syedaal Khan conveyed appreciation that the speaker of the AJK assembly was not hurt in the gunshot incident, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani sent his best wishes to Akbar.

PPP members protested throughout Muzaffarabad as word of the incident spread on social media, setting fire to tires and obstructing traffic at important intersections like Chattar and Gojra. But when the Speaker arrived in the city at around 5:30 p.m., he was able to quiet the provoked supporters. To reduce public outrage, Akbar asked them to keep calm, refrain from escalation, and permit the return of vehicle traffic.

After that, he took a car to the hospital to see the injured workers.
