GARHI DUPATTA (Kashmir English): On the directives of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, the National Tree Plantation Campaign Spring 2025 has been formally launched at the Local Government and Rural Development Center, Garhi Dupatta.

The campaign kicked off with the sapling planting ceremony, attended by prominent personalities including the Divisional Director of Local Government Asif Chishti, Babar Minhas, Deputy Director Syed Mazhar Gilani, and Town Committee Garhi Dupatta Chairman.

Additionally, saplings were distributed among the attendees, while the general public was encouraged to plant as many trees as possible to offset climate change.

Earlier, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq officially inaugurated the National Tree Plantation Campaign 2025 by planting a sapling in the Forest Complex Tandali.

Under the plantation campaign, which will continue for 45 days, saplings will be planted in all the districts and tehsil headquarters of Azad Kashmir, including government offices and educational institutions.

The plantation campaign has been launched by all departments, including the Department of Education, Schools, Department of Higher Education, Food, Agriculture, Livestock, Information, Local Government and Rural Development, Highways, and Tourism.

Prime Minister Anwarul Haq said that the tree plantation campaign has been launched as a national campaign so that people hailing from different walks of life could participate in it and play their due role in tree plantation in the next 45 days.

This plantation campaign is part of a broader initiative toward promoting environmental conservation and sustainability within Azad Kashmir by planting as many trees as possible.

These campaigns aim to raise awareness regarding the need for tree plantation as a way of fighting climate change and promoting eco-friendly practices among the citizenry.
