MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed the Azad Jammu and Kashmir University of Haveli Act, 2025, paving the way for the establishment of a university in Haveli district of the state.
The bill was presented by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mian Abdul Waheed and approved by the House during a special session on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsaal.
This decision is the fulfillment of the long-held dream of the people of Haveli and a significant step forward in the field of education. The University of Haveli will provide higher education opportunities to the people of the region.
MLA Haveli and Minister of Local Government & Rural Development Faisal Mumtaz Rathore expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Farooq Haider, former Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Minister for Higher Education Malik Zafar Iqbal, and other dignitaries for their efforts and support.
Additionally, Dr. Mukhtar of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Vice Chancellor of Women University Bagh, Dr. Khawaja Farooq, and other dignitaries were also appreciated.
This initiative will enable the boys and girls of the area to be adorned with the jewel of higher education, which will benefit the entire region in the future.
