MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court has suspended the appointments of five employees recruited through a non-transparent advertisement in the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) till further orders.

Taking notice of the matter, the High Court has summoned the Secretary Services and the Director General of KIM in their personal capacity to seek clarification regarding the recruitment process, nature of the advertisement, and adherence to merit.

The petitioner had taken the stand that the advertisement issued for the said recruitments was devoid of clear terms and conditions, due to which questions were raised on transparency, and there was a fear of violation of merit.

After the initial hearing, the court temporarily suspended the appointments and sought a detailed response from the concerned authorities.

The court held that appointments in government institutions must be made with complete transparency, merit, and in accordance with legal requirements, and any kind of irregularity or ambiguity affects public trust.

Further hearing will be held on a later date, where the concerned officers will appear before the court and state their position.
