MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Health Department has imposed an emergency across the state, cancelling the staff’s leaves.
On the special instructions of Health Minister Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi and Health Secretary Brigadier Aamir Raza Tipu, the DG Public Health has ordered all medical centers to remain alert.
Director General of Public Health, Dr. Sardar Aftab Hussain Khan, has issued an order that all officers and personnel should be present at their duty stations.
Strict instructions have been given to ensure 24-hour shift-wise attendance in hospitals, and the operating theater staff should not go outside the hospital premises.
In view of the emergency, all hospitals have been required to keep at least 30 percent of beds vacant and reserved at all times so that immediate treatment is possible in case of a sudden surge in patients.
All concerned officers have been ordered to be in constant touch with the directorate to keep the reporting system active.
No officer or official will be able to leave their station without the prior permission of the competent authority, and there will be strict restrictions on movement.
