AJK govt issues formal notification for increase in monthly allowances of 1989 refugees

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir government has officially issued a notification after Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced an increase in the monthly allowance of the Jammu and Kashmir refugees of 1989.

An important meeting of the Refugee Working Committee was held in the capital, Muzaffarabad, to resolve this long-standing issue, in which special thanks were expressed to the State of God, the President, the Prime Minister, and the Field Marshal.

The meeting was attended by Emir of the Refugees of Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Patron-in-Chief of the Working Committee Chaudhry Muhammad Feroz Din, Deputy Ameer Raja Muhammad Arif Khan, Secretary General Gohar Ahmed Kashmiri, Head of the Negotiation Committee Khawaja Muhammad Iqbal, Advisor Iqbal Yasin Awan, Deputy Secretary General Numberdar Chaudhry Muhammad Mushtaq, and Spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Farooqi, among other leaders.

The participants included Raja Muhammad Jazhar Khan, Muhammad Younis Mir, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Manzoor Iqbal Butt, Omar Jan, Haji Rangeel Butt, Fayyaz Ahmed Jagwal, Sarandaz Mir, Naeem Sajjad, Mukhtiar Ahmed Bhatti, Usman Ali Hashim, Ali Mehdi Dar, Nazim Din Sheikh, Riaz Khan Sehrai, Dr. Bilal Ahmed, Raja Sajid Khan, Ishtiaq Liaquat Ali, Murtaza Mughal, Muhammad Ismail, Aslam Inqilabi, Wasim Kiyani, Wali-ur-Rehman, Jamal Chaudhry, Raja Fazakat, Raja Obaid, Raja Abdul Rashid, Fayyaz Ahmed, Raja Sahil Advocate, Jafar Baig, Abdul Shakoor Khan, Abdul Rahim Shah, Khwaja Ghulam Lasani, Faisal Farooq, Fayyaz Ahmed Khan and Chaudhry Abdul Shakoor.

The participants of the meeting paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and supporting institutions for the issuance of the notification, saying that this will reduce the financial difficulties of the refugees.

The working committee also thanked the efforts of the Chairman of the Muttahida Jihad Council, Syed Salahuddin, and the Convener of the Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Muhammad Safi.

The committee dedicated this success to its late leaders, Raja Izhar Khan, Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, Amjad Khan Advocate, Sardar Liaquat Awan, Ali Muhammad Butt, and others, while also appreciating the struggle of senior leaders Muhammad Yousuf Butt, Muhammad Noorullah Qureshi Advocate, and others.

The committee announced that until all the demands of the Charter of Demands are met, their democratic struggle and protection of the rights of the refugees will continue.
