MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Friday approved the establishment of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the creation of 472 new posts.
The notification issued by the Home Department stated that new posts, including police officers, sub-inspectors, ASIs, constables, technical experts, and radio operators, will be created.
It added, “President AJK has approved the creation of various cadre posts under the Budget Head of the Home Department and Central Police Office AJK for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).”
“It is hereby stated that the appointments to the posts created shall be made as per the prevailing rules, and the Police Department shall not demand the creation of any more posts,” it stated.
The government further noted that the recruitment process would be conducted under prevailing rules and regulations.
The notification also clarified that the Police Department would not request the creation of additional posts beyond the approved strength.
Officials added that the initiative would not only strengthen the security framework but also create employment opportunities for youth in Azad Kashmir.
