AJK govt approves crucial link road in Jhelum Valley District

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The President of Azad Kashmir has approved the construction of a vital link road connecting Chak Muqam Ziarat to Mohalla Mumtaz Bukhari in District Jhelum Valley.

The Communications & Works Department issued a notification in this regard on Friday.

The 0.50 kilometer link road from Chak Muqam Ziarat to Mohalla Mumtaz Bukhari is part of the government’s development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing connectivity in Azad Kashmir.

The road project is part of the scheme “Construction, Improvement, Reconditioning, & Blacktopping of 20 km Main Roads, District Jhelum Valley,” approved in the annual development program 2024-25.

The Azad Kashmir government allocated Rs54.34 million for the 20 km road network scheme in the annual budget for 2024-25 against an estimated cost of Rs600 million.

The government set the expected progress of the project at 9 per cent by June 2025.
