MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Forest Department has suspended Range Officer Forests Fatehpur Thakiala, Kotli district, Chaudhry Tariq Hussain, for negligence and disobeying the departmental orders.
According to the order issued by the Section Officer Forest, the Range Officer has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule (1) 6 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 1977, on charges of negligence, non-cooperation, and carelessness in performing his duties and disobeying the departmental orders.
The decision was taken after a report was received from the Divisional Forest Officer Kotli Division regarding illegal encroachment of the area of Jangal Town Area of Fatehpur Thakiala tehsil (Nakiyal) in Kotli.
Along with the suspension, Tariq Hussain has been directed to appear in the Forest Directorate office in Mirpur, while a formal inquiry has also been initiated against him.
The Forest Department has made it clear that strict action will be taken against officials who neglect their official duties so that government administration can be made effective and transparent.
The Director General of Forests (Principal) has been appointed as the Authorized Officer to take disciplinary action under Rule (1) 5 of the said rules, the notification stated.
The Authorized Officer will be bound to submit the inquiry report through the Inquiry Officer within the stipulated time period, fulfilling all the requirements.
