MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir Food Authority on Thursday imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on PC Hotel Muzaffarabad for the poor sanitation arrangements and issued a warning to the hotel management.
According to the details, the Food Authority team, led by District Food Controller Abrar Ahmed Mir, inspected the hotel the hotel’s kitchen, production area, storage, and cleanliness standards.
They also checked the medical certificates of the chefs, waiters, and other staff members working in the kitchen and pest management areas. A fine was imposed on the hotel for insufficient sanitation arrangements, the press release issued by the food authority said.
The Food Authority said that the primary objective is to ensure that citizens and tourists have access to quality food items that meet hygiene standards.
Abrar Ahmed Mir emphasized that the Food Authority’s operations would continue without discrimination, and any establishment found violating the Food Authority Act and Pure Food Regulations would face action.
“In case of non-implementation of the Food Authority’s SOPs, action will be taken under the Food Authority Act,” the statement said.
