KHOIRATTA. AJK (Kashmir English): Efforts by PPP leaders and elders of the Gujjar community succeeded, as former Information Minister Chaudhary Muhammad Rafique Nayyar announced his support for PPP ticket holder Muhammad Waleed Inqalabi, completely changing the political landscape of the constituency.
According to details, under the leadership of Sajjada Nashin Dargah Aliya Faizabad Raian Sharif Baji Mian Ghulam Junaid and in the presence of former Minister for Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira, Information Minister Chaudhary Rafique Nayyar along with his associates withdrew in favour of the PPP nominated candidate for Khoiratta constituency, Muhammad Waleed Inqalabi.
Both leaders to run joint election campaign
Following this decision by Chaudhary Rafique Nayyar, both leaders will run a joint election campaign.
This development is being termed as a significant turning point in the politics of Wadi Bana Khoiratta, where a tough and neck-and-neck contest is now expected between Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N).
According to political observers, Rafique Nayyar’s support could strengthen Waleed Inqulabi’s election campaign, while the final decision will be made by voters through their right to vote.
On this occasion, PPP leaders welcomed the decision, calling it a major step forward for party unity and electoral strategy.
While addressing a press conference in Khoiratta, former Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhary Qamar Zaman Kaira thanked Rafique Nayyar.
On the occasion, Rafique Nayyar stated that he would win the Khoiratta seat and present it as a gift to the PPP leadership.
It is worth noting that Rafique Nayyar had become disgruntled when Waleed Inqalabi was awarded the ticket and had decided to contest the election independently, causing concern among PPP and Gujjar community elders that this would lead to heavy losses.
PPP President Chaudhary Muhammad Yasin had secured the ticket for Waleed Inqalabi and claimed that he would secure 30,000 votes, to which Rafique Nayyar had countered by saying he would see who gets how many votes.
