MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The polling for the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections in three districts of Mirpur division concluded on Monday amid allegations of rigging and incidents of violence at several polling stations.

As the vote count is underway in 13 constituencies of Mirpur, Kotli, and Bhimber districts, Kashmir Digital has started receiving the unofficial and preliminary results from multiple polling stations.

According to the election body, 296 candidates from different political parties and as independent candidates contested the polls today.

Furthermore, 2,454 polling stations were set up in Mirpur, including 597 in 4 constituencies of Mirpur, 1,107 in 6 constituencies of Kotli district and 608 in 3 constituencies of Bhimber.

A total of more than 1,401,439 voters were registered in the first phase, including 411,140 voters in Mirpur district, 342,926 in Bhimber district, and 647,378 voters in Kotli district.

Around 4500 personeel from the police, Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies remained deployed inside and outside the polling stations, while special security arrangements were made at polling stations declared sensitive and highly sensitive.

LA-1 Mirpur-I (Dadyal)

Winner – Azhar Sadiq (PMLN) 15,427 votes

Runner-up – Muhammad Afsar Shahid (PPP) 9,832 votes

The Chief Election Commissioner has announced the official result of LA-1 Mirpur. As per the result, PML-N’s Azhar Sadiq has emerged as the winner with a margin of 5,595 votes over the runner-up.

LA-2 Mirpur-II (Chakswari/Islamgarh)

Polling Stations: 149 / 149

Winner – Qasim Majeed (PPP) 12,952 votes

Runner-up – Azeem Bakhsh Chaudhry (PMLN) 8,256 votes

After the unofficial results of all 149 polling stations of LA-2 have been finalised, PPP’s Qasim Majeed has emerged as the winner with a margin of 4,696 votes over the runner-up.

LA-3 Mirpur-II (New Mirpur City)

Winner – Chaudhry Yasir Sultan (PPP) 12,590 votes

Runner-up – Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed (PMLN) 11,081 votes

The Secretary Election Commission, Raja Shakeel Khan, has announced the official result of LA-3 Mirpur. As per the result, PPP’s Yasir Sultan, the son of former AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood, has emerged as the winner with a margin of 1,509 votes over the runner-up.

LA-4 Mirpur-IV (Khari Sharif)

Winner – Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed (PML-N) 22,376

Runner-up – Sohaib Arshad Chaudhry (PPP) 15,851

After the unofficial results of all 162 polling stations of LA-4 have been finalised, PML-N’s Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed has emerged as the winner with a margin of 6525 votes over the runner-up.

LA-5 Bhimber-I (Barnala)

Ahead – Waqar Ahmed Noor (PML-N) 19,592

Behind –  Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf (PPP) 16,335

LA-6 Bhimber-II (Samahni)

Ahead – Chaudhry Razzaq (PML-N) 23,923

Behind – Ali Shan Soni (IPP) 12,492

LA-7 Bhimber-III (Bhimber City)

Polling Stations: 237/ 237

Winner – Tariq Farooq (PML-N) 37,613

Runner-up – Chaudhry Anwarul Haq (Independent) 25,534

After the unofficial results of all 237 polling stations of LA-7 have been finalised, PML-N’s Tariq Farooq has emerged as the winner with a margin of 12,079votes over the runner-up.

LA-8 Kotli-I (Raj Mahal)

Winner – Zafar Iqbal Malik (PPP) 19,535

Runner-up – Malik Muhammad Nawaz Khan (PMLN) 11,966

After the unofficial results of all 155 polling stations of LA-8 have been finalised, PPP’s Zafar Iqbal Malik has emerged as the winner with a margin of 7,569 votes over the runner-up.

LA-9 Kotli-II (Fatehpur Thakiala)

Winner – Umair Naeem (PMLN) 31,037

Runner-up – Chaudhry Javed Iqbal Budhanvi (PPP) 28,507

After the unofficial results of all 178 polling stations of LA-9 have been finalised, PML-N’s Umair Naeem has emerged as the winner with a margin of 2,530 votes over the runner-up.

LA-10 Kotli-III (Kotli City)

Winner – Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin (PPP) 12,421

Runner-up – Fateh Muhammad Al-Hassan (PMLN) 9,063

After the unofficial results of all 168 polling stations of LA-10 have been finalised, PPP’s candidate and President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin has emerged as the winner with a margin of 3,358 votes over the runner-up.

LA-11 Kotli-IV (Sehnsa)

Winner – Muhammad Asif (PMLN) 26,190

Runner-up – Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq (PPP) 21,751

After the unofficial results of all 206 polling stations of LA-11 have been finalised, PML-N’s candidate Muhammad Asif has emerged as the winner with a margin of 4,439 votes over the runner-up.

LA-12 Kotli-V (Charhoi)

Winner – Muhammad Riasat Khan (PMLN) 35,168

Runner-up- Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin (PPP) —

LA-13 Kotli-VI (Khuiratta)

Polling Stations: 190 / 193

Winner – Ayaz Ahmed (PMLN) 21,728

Runner-up – Nisar Ansar Abdali (IPP) 15,648 votes

Third – Waleed Inqalabi (PPP) 14,386

After the unofficial results of all 190 polling stations of LA-13 have been finalised, PML-N’s Ayaz Ahmed has emerged as the winner with a margin of 6,098 votes over the runner-up.

The electoral process at three polling stations was suspended due to polling-related incidents. However, the election commission said that repolling would depend upon if the total number of votes cast impacted the results.
