MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice (R) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal visited the Election Commission Office, Poonch House.
The Election Commission officials welcomed the Chief Election Commissioner and the Secretary of the Election Commission.
On this occasion, the AJK Election Commission officials gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Election Commissioner regarding the administrative preparations so far in connection with the upcoming general elections.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said that the AJK Election Commission is fully mobilized to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
He directed that full efforts should be made to make the voter lists of Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan transparent and accurate.
He said that in this regard, the Deputy Election Commissioner should maintain close contact with the representatives of Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan, and their complaints and concerns should be addressed promptly so that the public’s confidence in the electoral process is further strengthened.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that an important meeting will be held soon with the Election Commission of Pakistan to finalize a comprehensive strategy for holding elections in the constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan.
He reiterated the commitment that the Election Commission, with the cooperation of all relevant institutions, will ensure a clean, transparent, and credible election process.
