MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar, High Court Bar, and District Bar expressed concerns over the September 29 strike call by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).

In a joint press conference held at the Kashmir Press Club in Mirpur, representatives from the lawyer bodies emphasized their support for peaceful protests to resolve issues but warned that they would not condone any movement that turns violent or chaotic.

The bar leaders, including Vice Chairman Supreme Court Bar Council Uqab Hashmi Advocate, President SC Bar Javed Najam Al-Saqib, and President High Court Bar Waseem Younis, stressed the importance of peaceful protests in resolving issues.

They warned that raising the flag of Pakistan and spreading chaos cannot be supported and urged the JAAC to maintain peace during their protests.

The representatives condemned the firing incident by a government minister in Rawalakot and urged the government to resolve outstanding issues through negotiations.

The bar leaders demanded that the government implement fundamental human rights enshrined in the constitution and reduce luxuries.

The lawyers urged the government and the Awami Action Committee to negotiate for a peaceful solution.
