MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Bar Council has announced a protest and court boycott on Tuesday (tomorrow) over the murder of Advocate Mirza Nawaz Jarral.
Following the incident, the Vice Chairman of the AJK Bar Council said that lawyers will go on strike across Azad Kashmir tomorrow, Tuesday, and lawyers will not appear in courts.
“All bar associations will hold protest demonstrations,” he said.
The announcement came after Advocate Mirza Nawaz Jaral was shot dead near Dhandar in Bhimber district.
As per details, the victim was traveling in his car when an unknown person opened fire on the vehicle, killing the lawyer on the spot.
Police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and cordoned off the area. Police said that an investigation has been started and a search has begun to apprehend the accused.
The body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Bhimber, for a medico-legal examination.
