ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started the licensing process of Virtual Private Network (VPN) service providers under Class License for the Provision of Data Services in Pakistan.

During the course of this exercise, the PTA has already issued Class Licenses to three organizations, permitting them to provide VPN services in the country.

The regulator has requested all VPN service providers operating unlicensed to obtain the requisite Class License at once in order to remain in compliance with the existing regulatory landscape.

By obtaining the required license, VPN service providers can avoid potential service interruptions and grant uninterrupted access to their users.

The PTA has published clear information on the licensing process, eligibility, and application forms on its website. This action targets the regulation of the VPN industry in Pakistan, improving a structured and compliant business.

VPN service providers can now access the resources and information needed to obtain their licenses and remain in operation according to the country’s laws.
