BAGH (Kashmir English): Syed Kaleem Abbas, as Bagh Assistant Commissioner, conducted a price control assessment and market inspection in Bagh city, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to resolve market violations during his present investigation of the region. This inspection focused on both checking fair prices of essential items as well as maintaining clean and ordered market conditions.
During the visit, several unauthorised encroachments in the city were removed. The Assistant Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to maintaining discipline in public spaces and ensuring that vendors operate within legal limits.
On the same occasion, a delegation from the Poultry Sellers Association met with the Assistant Commissioner. They explained their worries about rising prices of poultry products as well as higher transportation costs from Rawalpindi.
The delegation presented details about the dual problems faced by sellers and consumers to the administrative authorities, who were asked for intervention.
Assistant Commissioner Abbas stated to the delegation that the administration remains dedicated to providing public access to economical and high-quality products. He emphasised that profiteering and the sale of overpriced items will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He encouraged citizens to report any irregularities in market prices directly to the administration. “Timely action will be taken on all genuine complaints,” he stated, assuring the public of responsive and efficient governance.
During his warning the Assistant Commissioner actively denounced vendors who sold contaminated or subpar food products. The Assistant Commissioner declared vendor violations regarding unhealthy or fake food products would lead to severe legal consequences following immediate removal of the business.
“We are responsible for safeguarding public health and ensuring that consumers receive fair treatment in the marketplace,” he added.
The visit and interaction reflect a growing focus on market regulation and public welfare in Bagh, as authorities move to stabilise prices and curb unethical business practices. The administration has urged the public to cooperate in these efforts by remaining vigilant and reporting any violations.
