RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): In the second match of PSL 10, the Quetta Gladiators trumped Peshawar Zalmi by 80 runs after bowling them out for 136 runs.

After batting first, the Quetta Gladiators set a target of 217 runs with Saud Shakeel scoring 59 runs and Finn Allen scoring 53 runs; meanwhile, their star bowler, Abrar Ahmed, took 4 wickets for 42 runs. Kyle Jamieson and Mohammad Amir picked up key wickets as well.

With only three runs scored, Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam was bowled by Mohammad Amir in the opening over, resulting in their terrible start. Saim Ayub, who was returning to competitive cricket after an injury, put up a strong fight and scored a fifty off 37 balls, but he continued losing partners at the other end.

The left-hander hit three fours and four sixes. Hussain Talat contributed as well, smashing three sixes and scoring 35 off 19 deliveries.

Mohammad Amir and Usman Tariq each claimed two wickets for the Quetta Gladiators, while Abrar Ahmed claimed four wickets for 42 runs in four overs.

The player of the match award went to Abrar Ahmed.

The Quetta Gladiators, who batted first, set a goal of 217 runs for Peshawar Zalmi to win after scoring 216 runs in the allotted overs with three wickets lost.

Hassan Nawaz scored 41 runs off 32 balls, while captain Saud Shakeel (59 off 42) and Finn Allen (53 off 25) both hammered fifties. For Peshawar Zalmi, Ali Raza, Alzarri Joseph, and Sufyan Muqeem each claimed one wicket.
