KOTLI (Kashmir English): The funeral prayers of the late Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir and former President of District Bar Association Kotli Chaudhry Mahmood-ul-Hasan Advocate was offered here at Sardar Sikandar Hayat Stadium on Monday.
The funeral prayers were attended by politicians, civil society representatives, political activists, traders, local government representatives as well as a large number of JI activists and leaders.
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Minister for Rehabilitation Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Minister for Higher Education Zafar Iqbal Malik, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sadaqat Hussain Raja, Member Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Muhammad Hanif Malik, Member of Assembly Muhammad Rafiq Nayyar, Former Senior Minister Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Habib-ur-Rehman Afaqi, Mian Muhammad Maqsood, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, President Bar Sardar Aftab Anjum, Pakistan Peoples’ Party leader Malik Muhammad Yousaf, Presidential Advisor Chaudhry Muhammad Mehboob Advocate, President Anjuman Tajran Malik Muhammad Yaqub, Former PML-N candidate Zulfiqar Malik, Mayor of Municipality Chaudhry Muhammad Taj, Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas Advocate, Former Judge Iftikhar Butt, Former Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq, President PPP District Kotli Pervez Akbar, District Councilor Abdul Qayyum Qamar Advocate, MSDHQ Dr. Nasrullah Sadiq, and former DIG Prisons Sardar Iftikhar were among those who attended the prayers.
Speaking briefly on the occasion, the incumbent JI chief Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Minister for Rehabilitation Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Minister for Higher Education Zafar Iqbal Malik, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, and others paid eulogizing tributes to the religious and political services of Chaudhry Mahmood ul Hassan.
JI leader remembered for his services
The speakers said that Chaudhry Mahmood-ul-Hassan was a highly knowledgeable person who will be always remembered for his significant contribution to the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement, selfless services for uplift of society particularly the underprivileged sections of society.
