MELBOURNE (Kashmir English): Australia will host India in October for eight white-ball matches (five ODIs and three T20Is) before launching their bid to retain the much-awaited Ashes title against England.

The series is part of the Australia’s action-packed 2025/26 home season fixtures announced by Cricket Australia.

It will be for the first time in 17 years that international cricket will be played in every state and territory of Australia in the same calendar year as the hosts will play two T20 Internationals against South Africa in Darwin in August.

After playing six white-ball matches against South Africa, Australia will play three ODIs against India, who beat them in the ICC Champions Trophy semi-finals earlier this month.

The hosts will play five T20Is against 20-overs world champions India, who have turned out to be Australia’s fiercest rivals in recent years across all three formats of the game.

It will be November 21 when Pat Cummins and his men will begin their Ashes campaign against England in Perth, which will be followed by Tests in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
