BHIMBER (Kashmir English): The district headquarters of Bhimber commemorated Martyrs’ Day with profound respect and gratitude, honouring the sacrifices of the armed forces and civilian martyrs. A rally was organised from the historic site of Haathi Gate, drawing participation from people of all walks of life, who paid tribute to the unmatched sacrifices made for the nation.
During the event, prayers were offered for the well-being of the Islamic world, the stability of Pakistan, the security of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and the liberation of Occupied Kashmir. Attendees also voiced their demand for the immediate arrest of those who attempt to dishonour the memory of the martyrs. The commemoration acted as an alert to younger people to protect the memories of fallen soldiers so that hostile social media propaganda does not succeed in damaging their legacy.
People involved with the rally carried flags as they moved from one point to another until they reached Samahni Chowk while showing absolute support for the fallen heroes. At the gathering Tehsildar Qaiser Mahmood Shams led along with President of Gazetted Officers Association Chaudhry Farooq Zubair and other speakers described how the martyrs forfeited their lives while securing national security from both domestic and foreign threats.
Speakers emphasized during the address that citizens today experience both peace and security because of the ultimate sacrifices made by these heroes. They emphasised that only those nations that honour their martyrs and veterans continue to thrive with dignity and pride.
The rally reaffirmed the collective commitment of the people to uphold the sanctity of the martyrs’ sacrifices and to ensure their remembrance remains undiminished. Such hateful words and speeches prove to be dishonouring to our heroes, who have laid their lives for the sanctity of the motherland without a second thought.
During discussions, participants urged the government to implement severe punishments against everyone who tries to discredit national security institutions. The citizens demanded strong measures to combat any discourse disrespecting martyrs because such behaviors should receive strict enforcement to maintain national unity and respect for brave individuals who died protecting their nation.
