MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Joint Awami Action Committee has strongly condemned the arrest of Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, calling it unjustified and beyond comprehension. The committee expressed its dismay over the arrest.
In a statement, the core committee of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee criticised the move, asserting that such actions undermine the principles of justice and fair governance. The committee maintained that Raja Ghulam Mujtaba had not engaged in any unlawful activity and that his detention raises serious concerns about the suppression of dissent.
Furthermore, the committee warned that if any extra-judicial or illegal action is taken against Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, it reserves the right to launch a state-wide protest against what it describes as state repression.
Today, the police raided and captured Raja Ghulam Mujtaba from the Bagh district due to his anti-Pakistan and anti-AFs/ Shuhada speech during the AAC Aftaar dinner on March 25, 2025.
On April 3, 2025, police from PS Dhirkot raided and arrested Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, a core committee member of the Joint Awami Action Committee (AAC), from Kotli Pail, Tehsil Dhirkot, District Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). He was subsequently handed over to PS Rawalakot City.
According to official sources, Raja Ghulam Mujtaba Hussain has been nominated in FIR No. 99/25 at PS Rawalakot City under APC Act 489(0), 124A/153A, dated March 29, 2025. The charges relate to alleged anti-armed forces and Shuhada speech he delivered during an AAC Aftaar-dinner event in Rawalakot on March 25, 2025.
The eyes of the public are fixated on authorities because they need to understand their strategy to handle the escalating pressure. The anti-Pakistan speech has stirred a mixture of emotions within the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and all over Pakistan.
