MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government employees couldn’t get their salaries as per the promised deadline by the government; March 24, much before Eid, mainly due to the commercial banks’ non-professionalism and appetite for more profit.

The AJK government had announced to release the salaries on or before March 24 in view of the fast-coming Eid-ul-Fitr but have yet to receive it.

Eid and salaries

According to details, the government had released the salaries in time but the banks didn’t post it to the government employees’ accounts out of the appetite for more profit, a delay that might have spoiled public mood on the occasion of Eid.

Instead of disbursing the salaries in time, the banks deemed it parking in the banks for commercial point of view, the employees believe.

Secretary Finance Gazetted Officers Association AJK has termed the banks’ attitude an injustice to the government employees.
