MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Mirpur Commissioner’s office rejected the allegations of a British-Kashmiri woman, stating that the police immediately vacated the house and handed it over to the woman after she filed the complaint.

The British-Kashmiri woman Yasmin, during the press conference today, said that local authorities, instead of helping her, facilitated the squatter mafia and were allegedly harassed and intimidated by the tenant, who attempted to occupy her property.

In a press release, the spokesperson said that the woman presented a contrary position in her press conference.

“Upon receiving the woman’s complaint, the police took immediate action and vacated the house from the tenant and handed it over to her, which she did not mention in her presser today,” the spokesperson said.

The Commissioner’s office said that immediate action was also taken on complaints filed by the woman against the employees of the Electricity Department and the Sui Northern Gas Department.

The press release further added that an inquiry commission has been established by Commissioner Mirpur Divison to ascertain the facts regarding the illegal electricity connection.

“The Additional Deputy Commissioner Mirpur has been appointed as the inquiry officer, which the woman has deliberately not mentioned in her press conference,” it read.

Additionally, it added that on the complaint of the woman, a reference has been sent to the General Manager of the Sui Northern Gas Company to complete the initial inquiry against the employees of the local office of Sui Northern Gas and to take action against the employees concerned in light of the woman’s statement.

“The woman has made a statement of facts without mentioning the actions taken by the government institutions, which is a despicable attempt to defame the government institutions,” it added.
