MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the obscene fashion show held at the world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to statement issued on Monday, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali has said that Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim populated area which has a great respect for the holy month of Ramadan.
He maintained that such obscene videos circulating on social media clearly testify the Indian conspiracies and Hindutva ideology which is not acceptable by the Muslims particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Muslims are hurt by fashion show
He said that Muslims on both sides of the Line of Control are hurt by the Indian acts.
Uzair said that Bharatiya Jannata Party government under the leadership of Narendra Modi is constantly playing with the religious sentiments of the dominant Muslim majority in Occupied Kashmir.
“This is a sinister part of the conspiracy to deny the religious rights of the Kashmiri people”, he added.
Ghazali reiterated that Kashmiri people will protect their religious values, state and land from the followers of Hindutva.
He demanded the international religious organizations particularly Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take notice of Indian acts during the month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also condemned the viral obscene fashion show held in Gulmarg on social media.
He tweeted, “Outrageous! That in the holy month of Ramzan an obscene fashion show is organised in #Gulmarg, pictures & videos from which have gone viral sparking shock and anger among people. How could it be tolerated in the valley known for its sufi, saint culture and the deeply religious outlook of its people? Those involved should be immediately held accountable. Such obscenity in the name of tourism promotion will not be tolerated in #Kashmir.!”
