Funeral prayers offered for Pakistan Army helicopter crash martyrs

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Funeral prayers were offered for the Pakistan Army personnel who embraced martyrdom after an Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad during take-off.

Army officers, soldiers, and residents attended the funeral prayers to pay their respects to the Army helicopter crash martyrs. The tragic incident occurred on June 11 when the helicopter reportedly crashed shortly after take-off.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Mi-17 helicopter went down due to a technical fault. Rescue and recovery teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site following the accident.

In a statement, the military’s media wing confirmed that all personnel on board embraced martyrdom and that there were no survivors.

The ISPR further announced that a board of inquiry has been constituted to determine the exact technical cause of the crash.

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with all ranks of the Pakistan Army, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. The military leadership also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs.

The funeral ceremonies were marked by solemn tributes to the sacrifices and services of the personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
