KARACHI (Kashmir English): Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari has been trending on social media but not for good reasons.
He is facing backlash on social media after a remark about his marriage during a televised appearance sparked controversy.
During an event this week, the veteran actor was invited on stage and the host asked about the absence of his wife, noting that she usually accompanies her.
In response, Sabzwari joked, “No, the other one is with me today,” which, nonetheless, drew laughter from the audience.
However, as soon as the clip of the remark surfaced online, it quickly drew attention, with many criticising the comment as inappropriate.
Several social media users described the remark as a kind of disrespect toward Sabzwari’s spouse, arguing that public figures should be more mindful of their words, even in joke.
The latest comments also revived discussion regarding Sabzwari’s earlier remarks which criticised men who enter second marriages while their first wife is still alive.
