GILGIT (Kashmir English): The election campaign formally ended at 12 midnight today (Friday) as Gilgit-Baltistan goes to polls tomorrow, Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Political parties and candidates made their last push through rallies, public gatherings, corner meetings, and power shows across the region.
According to the election rules, there will be a complete ban on election campaigning today (Saturday). The Election Commission has warned that action will be taken against any candidate who violates the code of conduct.
Political activities remained in full swing across Gilgit-Baltistan especially in Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza and Ganche, during the general election campaign.
Officials said the law and order situation across Gilgit-Baltistan is satisfactory and fully under control.
Ballott to decide next govt in Gilgit-Baltistan
All eyes are now fixed on the polling day when the decisive power of the ballot will determine which political party forms government in GB.
In the run up to the election, senior leadership of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) addressed public rallies and sought cooperation from the voters.
