NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Major details have emerged regarding the world’s leading technology company Apple foldable iPhone, according to which this new flagship hardware will break all previous price records.
According to a recent report by renowned Bloomberg analyst Marc Grumman, the starting price of this revolutionary iPhone is likely to be 2,000 US dollars, which is about 1,000 dollars more expensive than current models.
The report states that this device can be launched in the market in September 2026 with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, however, due to some technical issues faced in finalizing the hinge design, its launch may be delayed until December 2026.
According to information received from sources and physical prototypes, this first Apple phone will be based on a book-style design that opens like a book instead of a clamshell.
When closed, its screen size will be 5.5 inches, while when fully opened, it will turn into a large 7.8-inch screen for which the OLED panels will be provided by Samsung.
When fully opened, the thickness of this phone will be only 4.5 mm, due to which it will not be possible to install a TrueDepth camera on the front, which is why this model will return to the power button or the Touch ID i.e. fingerprint sensor in the screen instead of the traditional Face ID.
On the other hand, according to Chinese social media platform Weibo and other sources, Apple will introduce its new devices to the market in 2 separate phases in 2026 and 2027.
The first phase will see the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launched alongside the iPhone Fold in September 2026, featuring the new A20 processor and an upgraded pressure-sensitive camera control button.
In the second phase, by March 2027, the company will introduce the standard iPhone 18 and a budget-friendly model, the iPhone 18e, where some of the components and chips are likely to be downgraded to keep the iPhone 18e’s starting price at $599.
