MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Authorities have captured a mysterious eagle with a solar-powered GPS-like tracking device from the Pir Chinasi tourist area near Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
The official said that a yellow wing tag number “F49” was also found attached to the eagle. The unusual bird has sparked significant public attention and speculation on social media.
Wildlife experts stated that the eagle does not appear to be an ordinary bird of prey and is likely part of an international migration tracking program or raptor conservation project.
The experts said that such GPS/GSM trackers are commonly used to monitor the migration, habitat, and movement of birds, including eagles, falcons, and vultures.
The yellow wing tag carrying the code “F49′ is believed to be an identification marker used in global bird monitoring and scientific research projects, experts added.
It is being suggested that this eagle could be a migratory raptor associated with a research program in Central Asia or the Gulf countries.
