MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A grand ceremony was held at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, to mark the completion of one year of ‘Marka-e-Haq’, in which a great tribute was paid to the courage and professionalism of the armed forces.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, former Chief Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Ibrahim Zia, eminent intellectuals, faculty members and a large number of students.
The participants appreciated the unparalleled services of the Pakistan Air Force and ground forces in the defense of the beloved homeland.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak said in his address that Pakistan is a strong and capable country which has the full capacity to defend its borders. Stressing social harmony and discipline, he said that the real strength lies in unity and adopting common values. He said that we should strengthen the country by promoting unity instead of differences.
Former Chief Justice (retd) Chaudhry Ibrahim Zia termed the immortal sacrifices of the martyrs as a beacon of light for the nation. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Talat Shabbir clarified that sustainable strategic power depends on economic stability, while he termed a just solution to the Kashmir issue as indispensable for lasting peace in the region. Hurriyat leaders Pervez Shah and Samia Sajid also highlighted the key role of youth in protecting national sovereignty.
During the ceremony, students performed enthusiastic national songs and filled the air, which awakened the spirit of patriotism among the participants.
At the end of the ceremony, teachers and students also took out a rally to express solidarity with the armed forces. The participants reiterated their commitment to national security, stability, and national unity and offered special prayers for the development and prosperity of the dear homeland.
