KARACHI (Kashmir English): The first match of the ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe women’s cricket teams will be played at the National Stadium Karachi on Monday.
The second match of the series is scheduled for May 6, and the third and final ODI is scheduled for May 9.
This will be followed by a three-match T20 series between the two teams, starting on May 12, with the second match on May 14 and the third and final T20 on May 15.
In preparation for the series, both teams held final training sessions at the National Stadium on Sunday night.
The ODI matches are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29. The ODI matches will start at 3:30 pm, while the T20 matches will start at 7:30 pm.
The Pakistan women’s team will be led by Fatima Sana, while the squad also includes an uncapped player, Momina Riaz. The team for the T20 series will be announced later.
Pakistan is currently fifth in the ICC Women’s Championship standings, but has slipped one place in the latest Women’s One-Day International rankings, moving from 7th to 8th.
The series against Zimbabwe is an important opportunity for the Pakistan Women’s team to prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
Before that, the Pakistan team will also participate in the tri-nation T20 tournament to be held in Ireland from May 28 to June 4, which will include Ireland and the West Indies.
Pakistan Women’s Squad
Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the ODI series includes Fatima Sana (captain), Alia Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Gul Feroza, Momina Riaz, Muniba Ali (wicketkeeper), Najia Alvi (wicketkeeper), Nashra Sindhu, Natalia Parvez, Ramin Shamim, Sadaf Shams, Sidra Arif, and Tabish Shah. The reserve players include Irum Javed, Aiman Fatima, Saira Jabeen, Tuba Hassan and Amber Kainat.
The team management includes Ayesha Ashar as team manager, Wahab Riaz as mentor and head coach, Abdul Rehman as spin bowling coach, Umaid Asif as fast bowling coach, Abdul Majeed as fielding coach, Imran Farhat as batting coach, Muhammad Arsalan as media manager, Waleed Ahmed as analyst, Moeen as strength and conditioning coach and Shahzadi as masseur.
