KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heatwave alert for central and upper Sindh, which will continue to bring high temperatures until Sunday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised residents and officials to take immediate precautionary measures as hot and dry conditions intensify in several districts.
The PMD reported that Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur will experience temperatures that exceed normal levels by 3 to 5°C.
The weather forecast predicts that Jacobabad, Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Sukkur, and Ghotki will experience both dust storms and strong winds throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The temperature forecast for Karachi Division predicts a range of 38°C to 40°C on Sunday, which will increase to 39°C to 41°C on Monday.
The PMD has put forward three safety recommendations, which include avoiding direct sunlight, maintaining proper hydration levels, and taking safety measures to protect against dust storms that pose a risk to weak structures, trees, vehicles, and solar panels.
The authorities have instructed farmers to modify their working times, while they should prioritize taking care of livestock.
